Thanks, it could just be settling down as I have only had it for about 5 or 6 weeks. I have to go back to have it checked anyway so I will mention it then. I do hope it settles down. The hormones have really affected my mood too and I have felt very subdued, but maybe that will pass, because I can feel some improvement already.

Gemz, I was told there is 'no evidence' that the mirena leads to weight gain but a quick Google confirms there is plenty of anecdotal evidence. If it would just settle down, it would be so awesomely convenient so I will persevere for a while.

Snaggles:j:j:j welcome back lovely lady. Have you at least worked out your outgoings compared to salary/child benefit as those are fixed incomes?

  • Aw Snags, that sounds rubbish - I had similar with the implant but it settled down eventually (probably about a year before things were fairly 'normal'), not much fun in the meantime though.

Just been emailing my landlady about moving and she's quite keen for me to move earlier than the end of my contract (end of November) so I might be all moved out/ in within the next month! :D

Thanks Luc! I know exactly what my outgoings are but I won't know what my salary is until this time next month because I will stop having nursery fees deducted at source. I could have a rough guess but until I know for sure, I will just try to spend as little as humanly possible and look for ways to reduce my outgoings.

Good news on the moving Squizz! So exciting. Can we start buying hats?

  • Afternoon,

Welcome Smartie to the daily chat and congratulations on your pregnancy. Your MIL is in the best place for her.

My reports are done, yeah, however I fear that I might be throwing the work computer out of the window in a bit, it's soo bleeping slow!

    Welcome smarties :D
lilmiss, I'd have killed the computer already....I hate them when they hit the go-slow ...GRRR
On a happier note, I have started my own form of a detox (basically eat only fruit and veg for up to a week to get the crap out of my system, then add in unprocessed foods afterwards) and I'm feeling OK so far.

I have had the Mirena for about fifteen years....(apart from the a couple of years out for trying for chloe) and have not had a period for years and years. I thought it made me put weight on but that was just me eating too much. It has also done wonders for my hormonal mood....

    Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Right.....got to get on. Now have a client who urgently needs a 'dashboard'. Seems to be the in thing!
