Cash Machine Error

I bank with Cahoot and tried to draw £50 from a Lloyds TSB cash machine this afternoon. I put all my details in the machine and made my selection of cash with receipt, I did not look at the screen again but looked at the slot that dispenses the money but nothing happened. the screen went back to please insert your card, so I tried it again this time I watched it and it said sorry we are unable to deal with your request at this time or something along those lines. I went to a different machine at the same bank and it worked with no problem. I have just checked my account online and the £50 has been taken from my bank twice. The balance showing now is the same as the one on my receipt that came out with the cash which means the oringinal attempt must have registered as dispensing cash as well. The customer service is closed now until 8am. How do I prove I did not have the cash twice?

Don't worry. Just call up Cahoot and tell them the branch. What happens is that the branch where the error occured will have a £50 more in the machine, your bank will send a request for refund which will be investigated at the TSB and they will know the error and satisfy you with a refund. It takes about 10 days.

Oh my god, the amount of times ths could have hapened to me!! would say over the past year or so it has happened at least 2/3 times and i have assumed the machine was out of money or something.

I now know to check my balance!!

Panic over I have checked my bank online this morning and the £50 has been credited back

There was a problem with the Link network yesterday (Friday). This happened to lots of people.

Blimey! Does that explain why in Slovenia on Friday when I tried to withdraw 6000 SIT from a cash machine that it went through BUT failed to dispense my dosh?!!!

God, hope I get it back - it equates to only about £17 but even so!
