I don't see how you can target tax avoidance. He seems to be saying he'll target people that follow the rules and those that break the rules.

I think that's the same thing as saying, "I will target everyone" which seems oxymoronic to me.

Actually there's some fairly dodgy regulations HMRC is putting through that would make even the simplest advice to a client (e.g. contribute to an ISA, your pension scheme) etc within the realms of deliberate avoidance of tax, and therefore accountants & advisers could be subject to penalties for this.

People should pay their fair due but cracking down on everything is faintly ridiculous given how much higher earners contribute to the tax take over all.

no offence taken. i've never really seen the need to use capital letters when posting on forums, unless using acronyms. everyone knows what you're saying whether you capitalise or not. i'd not bother with punctuation either if you could remove it and retain the same meaning. i don't use capitals on internal work emails either.

I'd assumed you were posting from a phone.

I wouldn't have a member of my staff emailing in lower case but that probably reflects my age and industry. Doesn't bother me on a forum though.

When I've employed people I've seen them as far more important than me. I merely ask them to do a job, they're the ones that actually get it done!

NI is the real win for directors of small limited companies. Payable on salaries, not on dividends.

Just to clarify, only Directors that own shares in the company can receive dividends. Ownership and Director status are two different things.
