Had this camera for 2 years, taken thousands of great pics, however I cannot seem to get more than about 70 pics before the battery shows "low", tried a new battery (Duracell NB 4 L), fully charged, no difference. The screen is set to LESS than 1/2 brightness, all unecessary sounds switched off, all powersavings set to minimum., no im not taking lots of flash pics, nor excessive use of the zoom. Many reviews show this camera as taking 150 shots or even more, so why dont I?. Yes i do carry a spare, but thats not the point. The camera came from the Canon outlet, so was "refurbished"..perhaps i just got a bad un?.....does anyone out there seriously get 150 shots per charge? Ta.

Look for a Canon NB4L battery on Ebay and try it. A good few Canon's I've used seem to be 'funny' with replica batteries.
Depends as well on the charger- if you've tried 2 batteries, and had the same result, I'd look at the charger next- it may be faulty.0 -
I assume you mean a "Genuine" canon battery from e-bay, not a £3 cheepie? surely a Duracell is as good?Look for a Canon NB4L battery on Ebay and try it. A good few Canon's I've used seem to be 'funny' with replica batteries.
