Fund Raising Appeal
Dear Friends
May I take a minute of your time to tell about Lily she will be five in October, her Mum and Dad Julia and Gary regularly visit her in Little Havens Children's Hospice located in Thundersley. Julia and Gary have two sons Charlie ages 9 and Elliot aged 7.
The help the hospice has given their family is invaluable. Lily suffered a brain haemorrhage at birth and as a result has been left severely disabled.
Her condition has gradually deteriorated, and the decision to stop treatment and let her rest in Little Havens Hospice, has helped Julia and Gary to spend some quality time with her, without having to worry about all the medical care.
"We wanted the treatment to be stopped, and for her to be made comfortable." Said Julia
Lily is just one of many precious little Children who need the help provided by Little Havens Hospice. Little Havens Hospice covers the London and Essex area they only receive 2% of their funding from Government. They rely entirely on the generosity of friends like you. £12 enables a Nurse to care for a child and their family for one hour, £25 keeps the hospice looking homely and welcoming to the children with new duvets, curtains and a splash of paint, £150 supports a child's development through music therapy sessions, helping them to learn to communicate in their own special way. Your help will make a critical difference.
After hearing about Lily I decided that I should make a contribution to help Little Havens continue to provide their vital services for Free. to help raise funds I am taking part in a gruelling 8 day 148 kilometer trek into the Grand Canyon in the USA, on the 18 May 2007, I will be living out of a tent it will be an arduous Challenge temperatures can reach 100 Fahrenheit in the day and drop to zero at night but I am determined to succeed for Children like Lily.
If I am to succeed in this challenge I must raise £3000, I am donating £300 to this challenge to show how committed I am. Please can you give generously to help achieve the fund raising target. Please can you make a donation of £25. Donations from a Company are tax deductible!! Donations of items for auction or raffles are most welcome. If possible could you put this letter on your office or club notice board or in the window of your premises. If you would like to donate go to https://www.justgiving.com/littlehavenshospice
