right time to draw out from an ISA

    We don't know all the OP's circumstances, however. The ISA wrapper can last for many years but once money is withdrawn from the ISA, it can never be put back. The OP's future income, for example, might be able to pay off the credit-card debt and leave the ISA intact so that a 0% balance transfer (with 3% transfer charge) may serve a purpose.

    yes it is a cash ISA and when i say transfer i mean draw out to pay off the big purchase that we paid for on the card.

    i just looked at my last statement and the interest was paid in january and there was a four figure sum in there and i only had £54 interest- rubbish really hey??

    so when i get my statement i will pay the card off after transferring some of the balance to a 0% interest card..
