Just to let people know that Barclaycard have an 'identified error' on there IT systems that duplicates balance transfers.
My account was showing as over limit because of this, when I rang the customer services they just manually amended my online account to the correct amount.

I had the same problem back mid August. It was an 'identified error' then as well.
To their credit, they were very quick with resolving it.0 -

Hi
That's interesting to hear i have had a similar issue over the last 48 hours
I put through a balance transfer on Monday night which immediately showed on my account as a pending transaction and reduced my available credit.
I checked the next morning and it had disappeared, no pending transaction and my available credit back to what it was. I called them and was connected to someone in the uk who advised he could see no balance transfer pending on my account and to try it again.
Last night I put the same balance transfer through and again (my account was still showing sufficient available credit) and it let me go through the balance transfer process.
To my surprise this morning both transfers were on my account taking me well over my credit limit.
I have spent hours on the phone today with various members of the Indian call centre trying to resolve this and getting conflicting advice,
But still seem no further forward in getting it resolved.
how did you guys go about getting it reversed?
It does bring up two questions
1. Why did the advisor on Tuesday morning have no record of the Monday night transfer
2. How can the balance transfer system allow multiple transactions that allow you to go way over you credit limit.
Any advise appreciated.0 -
I had the same problem; I made a BT which showed twice on my online account, taking the account over my credit limit. I was informed that this was to ensure no further transactions were made (which could actually take me over my limit) before the BT was fully processed. I rang them and reluctantly followed their advice to wait for 2-3 working days for this to be removed and it was.
This may different if you authorised two BTs, rather than one, but I think you can request to speak to someone in the UK if you're having communication issues.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
I did the BT via the Indian Call centre in the evening and it wasn't until a couple of days later when I checked that it went through ok, that I realised that I was over the limit. I spoke to the Indian Call Centre, who said that it would be rectified within the hour and when I checked later that day...it had been!0
