Hi,
I was just wondering if its possible to request for a new card, online opposed to calling HSBC to do so. (every penny counts!) Yup, I do have online banking.
Thanks!

I suspect it depends on why you want a new card.
You could send them a secure message - 'Lost and Stolen' is an option on their messaging system.
However, they do mention "If your request is urgent, for example to report a lost and stolen card or to query a transaction on your account, you may wish to contact us by telephone."
elsewhere they state: 'you should not send us any messages that would be normally dealt with on the telephone due to their urgency.' and I suspect they would take a dim view if you didn't call them i.e. if your card had been stolen - so they could block it asap.
In terms of calling HSBC, they have all sorts of numbers including geographic ones and 0845 which are free for many people.
From their website:Lost and Stolen Cards Lines are open 24 hours a day including Bank Holidays
08456 007 010
+44 1442 422 929
(textphone 08457 125 563)
(textphone from abroad +44 207 088 2077)
For HSBC online cards, please call: 0800 0151 924
+44 121 214 5649 To report any HSBC credit or debit (e.g. Maestro) cards which have been lost or stolen

If your card could possibly have got into the wrong hands, then I would telephone. There is such a thing as false economy.0
