hello, i need some honey for medicinal purposes and have been advised that manuka is the best, most pure honey from the smaller bees.
have looked in julian graves and holland and barratt, but they are soooo expensive.
any idea of any other stockists?
thanks

The big supermarkets have it.Stompa0

Seen it in both Tesco and Sainsburys. Costs around £10 a jar.
I'd also think Holland and Barratt would sell it though can't see it being any cheaper.0 -
Make sure that when you compare prices that you check the UMF (Active) rating. There's a huge price difference between +5, +10 and +15. Also, not all manuka honey is 'active'. You really should be looking for 10 at least for medicinal purposes. I've bought from Julian Graves in the past, and had Sainsbury's own 10+. (that's £6.49)0

Typical! I live near 3 superstores and many normal sized supermarkets- all the Manuka honey is £10 plus (and as much as £20 in one store ) I'd love to try this honey as I have sinus problems and nothing really seems to work (no lactose/dairy helped massivly but its still there to some respect and means I cannot breathe through my nose when trying to sleep).
Does anyone in London know of a Sainsburys who stock the £6.49 version?0 -
I just paid £9.99 for a +10 jar to help heal a long-standing wound. Had it for 6 or 7 weeks and the honey cleared off the horrible stuff in just applications so well worth the money. A bit messy though, and I HATE honey so can't even eat it now.
No, not diabetic as this problem prompted me to have a fasting test which came back clear. It's a mystery as other cuts etc cleared up in 'normal' time but this one just persisted despite a course of antibiotics.
So, it's worth the money.0 -
FWIW I spotted some small jars in the RFQS bins at Tesco a few days ago, not sure of the strength, but I think they were around £4 a jar. I guess it's probably store specific though.Stompa0

It would be worth trying to find some local honey which should be cheaper than the Manuka. It should be as it came from the hive - not heat-treated or blended.0

Costco sell it, sorry but I can't remember how much it was but my mum uses manuka and she said it was a bargain!0

Boots sell it too, try the vitamin aisles....not certain but it may be on three for two but don't hold me to that.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
