Conservatory Roof blinds

Can anyone help

I am going to be looking into purchasing some conservatory roof blinds. Is there anything, help or guideance you can help with.

Is there certain types better than others?
Manual or automatic?

Don't know anything about them and would be interested in anyone's comments, for things to take into consideration when I have some-one out.

If there is anyone you can recommend, please pm I would be very grateful, for any numbers and feedback.

Many thanks for your time reading this

  • You need roof blinds because A) the room is too bright or too warm or both. B) they look nice and add privacy from above. Pleated fabric gives the best coverage, but expensive. Avoid *Thomas Sandersons, Hillaries, etc. try find a local company that make them inhouse. (*unless £6-8000 is your budget). Expect to pay £230 per blind. No need for electric as most owners have them in the UP position (IE offering shade) for 90% of the summer, and to keep warm in, during winter. Roller Blinds have never been much good in a roof as they have no support for the fabric and eventually curl. Pinoleum sometimes 3mm slats of wood, sometimes paper (a bit like lloyd Loom), do not give real sun block, more a dappled share. Very nice though. Inserts if your roof is polycarbonate are folded pieces of silvered plastic that go between the poly section, one of the most useful for heat and light reflection. Don't worry about maikng the room darker, all blinds will do as much. these probably offer better heat retention in winter too. No sales speel, I no longer work in this arena. Hope this helps. Best practise is to use a company that makes the blinds in house, and fits too. Bon chance

Any guidance on how to find a local company? People always recommend this... but I really don't know how to find one, other than walking the streets. Which I have done, but can't find any shopfronts, and not sure how to progress from there.

If anyone knows a good conservatory blind (or just general blinds I suppose) place that they would recommend somewhere in the region of Shepherds Bush, West London, could they PM me the details!

    Thanks

Local paper or yellow pages, we found a company advertised in our weekly local paper, they did an excellent job and a lot cheaper than the national companies quotes.
