Transferring to Job seekers allowance

I am on Incapacity benefit an I believe the government want to move everybody on the benefit to Job seekers allowance. I am also in receipt of a pension. Because I have been on incapacity since before April 2001 my benefit isn't means tested. Has anyone who has been transferred who is in the same circumstances found that when they were transferred the means testing was applied to the Job seekers allowance which meant they didn't get the allowance? In short is this a way for the government to do away with the April 2001 part of the rules and deny such people any benefit at all?

You'll be transferred to job seekers if you're found fit for work. If you have limited capability for work (LCW) you'll be put on to ESA - employment support allowance.

I am led to understand it is means tested. As stated I have a pension. My concern is that they will means test me and I won't get any benefit at all. At the moment they can't means test me.
  • Are fit to work ? if not you won't be entitled to JSA. If you have a pension this will be taken into consideration for JSA conts or means tested.
  • This is I believe a back door method of cutting down on benefit payments? Identify persons with a pension and benefits who are immune from means testing and eradicate the bar from means testing and end their benefit. I don't think I am fit for work. I had one chronic disease when I went onto benefit and now I have three verifiable by my doctor but I think that they will move about 90% onto JSA regardless of evidence from a doctor.
