USB Port "write protected"

Please help me this is driving me mad! :mad:

My USB drive won't let me delete files from pen drive or card reader when plugged in, it gives the message "the disk is write protected. remove the write protection or use another disk"

I have tried everything but I can't get the thing to un-write protect.

Please help me. The pen drive and card reader are fine i'm pretty sure, i think its something windows has done when my mp3 player battery ran out when connected.

I'm begging for help pleeeease!!!

On some pen drives theres a little slider on them which makes them read only. Look for a small slider on it..but its not aways there.

thanks. unfortunately that's not it, it's unlocked. definitely a windows thing

This could be cause program is still in use, or being used by another program

Some ideas here --> http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic18654.html, one of which is to reformat, but you'll lose all data on it, so copy any files you want to keep to your hard drive first.
