Fire Damaged Rubber Plant
I am caring for some plants for a friend
A rubber plant (was 6ft have had to cut main stem so now 3 ft)
1 large cactus (tall stick type)
1 grafted cactus (mini)
1 teddybear cauctus (mini)
These plants are very precious to her. They were in a house fire a week ago, fire damage is the reason for the rubber plant having been cut in half.
All leave have been washed down, Im just wondering where I go from here in helping to give them the best chance of recovery. They are all green etc.
Thanks

Sounds like you've already done the right thing.
I dont know what more you could do, washing them down wash a good call.
Maybe they'd like a bit of fresh air each day? Not to be left out overnight but maybe some freshair and weak sunshine would be good.
Were you house sitting or were the plants in your own home?
I hope you didnt suffer much other damage.

Thanks loads,
Ive rescued the plants and Im fostering them until she has a new home where they can live.
Do you think I should repot them incase of ash in the soil?0 -
Probably not, just blow or dust off anything on the surface with a paintbrush . The plants will ahve been stressed enough Repotting now might be too much for them. ( hark at me! sounding like I know! )
I'm no expert at all, only on this forum for advice myself, but the above sounds like good sense to me:)Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Thanks, this is exactly why I was scared to repot
Ill see how they do and if they dont perk up Ill repot in a month or so.
Thank you0
