Aviva v LV Life Policies

good point that - i once apllied for life cover for a client with aviva and aegon (knowing the guy would definitely be rated), and aviva gave double the rating of aegon. If you have any health issues i would always apply to more than one company
Couldn't agree more. In my IFA days we would regularly submit three applications to different providers, only accepting the best terms from one of them. Make sure you tell each of them about the other applications and if you need to go for a medical they will generally share the information with each other, meaning that only one medical is needed.

I've been contacted by Aviva today and surprise surprise the quote is actually £25 per month so no difference between them and LV;)0

Sorry, yes, AOR = accepted at ordinary rates - my bad for using insurance jargon!
LV still rated me, but not half as much as Aviva. Don't get me wrong, I am not beating the drum of LV as they have their pitfalls as much as any other company, just thought once again I would point out that quotes aren't the be all and end allI have been in the insurance industry for the past 6 1/2 years (protection products)
We have now bought our first home :j(completion date - 23.07.2010)
Wedding budget: £2,000 so far spent: £1,850. Wedding date of 27.08.2011 :T0 -

I couldn't agree more, the quote is just the starting point, you will only know the exact premium once it has been underwritten.
Heavy underwriting upfront is not a bad thing though, getting everything out in the open on day one may lead to higher premiums due to a medical loading, but it does mean you end up with a policy where the insurer knows everything about your (warts and all! :rotfl:) making life much easier at claim stage.
