How many times is it ok to view a house?

We had a viewer come round 3 times before making a cheeky offer... The second time was with mum and dad, the third with the brother.
I have no problem with 3 viewings.
I have no problem with cheeky offers as a starting point for negotiation.
However, viewing the house 3 times and then not even answering the EAs call when your first offer is knocked back is not only baffling, but bloody frustrating.
So all I would say is make sure you are very serious about the house before viewing a 3rd time and please show some respect for the people who have accommodated you in what, for now, is still their home, by at least responding to the EA should things not work out as you hoped.0 -
We formally viewed once. However the property's empty and we live on the street we're buying on (so got told off mid viewing by the neighbour over the fence that we should have just asked him for the keys he held to the place to look round!). Hence when we were outside with our parents discussing what we planned to do with it after having the offer accepted - neighbour just gave us the keys to show them the inside and it was really good to get the chance to work out exactly what we needed to get them to bring for the marathon DIY fest etc - we've been able to do this with both sets of parents so I guess we've had 3 viewings in all (the vendor knows the neighbour has done this for us and is fine with it). Didn't need to measure up for furniture etc since the internal room sizes are exactly the same as our house (and I'm brilliant with spatial awareness and fitting furniture in if I do say so myself).
Like I say though - the house was empty and it's quite an unusual situation I guess. Also helps a lot when you're relying on parents to bring DIY stuff down from the Western Isles to the Midlands to know exactly what needs doing!
I'd feel guilty as sin wasting people's time doing half the over the top viewings and viewings for the sake of viewing that some people seem to do.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
we viewed once, then were going to view again but the sellers had already accepted an offer. That fell through, we viewed again the same day it fell through, then offered on the spot as it was everything we wanted and there were 2 more viewings that evening. our offer was accepted and we visited one more time before exchange to measure up (FTBs and wanted to order sofas and bed before we moved in), mum also came with us that time and we met a builder there who gave us some quotes.
I would never ask to measure up before making an offer. Unless there's something really pivotal like it MUST have room for my billiards table or some new very expensive sofas...0
