Question for a plasterer

Boarded up a fireplace opening today that was where an onld gas fire was.

The opening was not a uniform rectangle and was very raged so the frame and board don't sit exactly level with the existing plaster. The plasterboad doesn't stick out past the existing but in places it is lower.

We are having the room replastered will this show up or will the bonding coat and skim coat simly level things off?

A good plasterer will sort the levels out - don't worry.

Had the same issue, no worry the bonding simply buried the board under, now you can't tell there was a fireplace.

Mmm yes I think I'd be angry too if I was just unceremoneously boarded up without much notice.

Seriously though don't forget you do need to provide ventilation hole for the fireplace which you can easily cover with a hit and miss. And the spread will sort it all out for you.
