Carphone warehouse insurance

Hi. Basically my phone was stolen at a wedding of all places last Saturday. I reported it to the police and put a claim in with carphone warehouse insurance. They've rejected my claim and appeal saying the phone is lost and not stolen. They say the number I've got from the police is a lost phone claim. It was the number I was given by the police. It's a brand new iPhone 4 and I am gutted.
What can I do? Can I ring the police and get them to give me the right number but then it won't be within 48 hours? Or should I just go to the FOS?

Have you read insurance policy documents from CPW? Does it cover lost phones?0 -
Never had any documents from them is the thing as well. They say it doesn't cover lost phones. I thought they were just trying it on at first.0
