Evening all - sorry I haven't managed to post yet today - had other things on my mind and been keeping busy

My BS (Big Sister) has rang twice today. Mam has been moved onto Trauma & Orthodedic Ward - my BS saw her this afternoon - confused and jumpy at first - drip alarm going off all the time. Nurse came over a couple of time and jiggled it about and said don't worry the tubes will just be twisted - BS saw fluid and blood on the bottom sheet and called nurse over again, who found that drip had come loose and none going into Mam, so fixed it up again. About 15 mins later, Mam lifted her arm and fluid seeming out again, so Anne called nurse again - she disconnected it and said they would fit it again when Doctor came round shortly.

Doctor did come and had a talk through with BS, saying Mam had trouble swallowing and they were checking this out. BS said, again, that was already being treated - Doctor did not know, so asked nurse to chase it up, so her files from that section (next door!!) were being sent over. They are possibly considering a camera down throat to check it out, as this had not been done yet

BS mentioned the wound on Mam's leg and Doctor again knew nothing about it - so BS showed her it - could see blood through the dressing - Doc said that nurses would be aware of that and keeping an eye on it and changing dressings - we hope so, BS will check dressing tomorrow and if it's the same, she will certainly tell them to change it - my sister is very good at getting things done and telling people when things are wrong!!! she won't let them get away with anything

So I am waiting to hear from BS again tomorrow after noon/teatime after she has seen her again, unless any other news before then. My brother is visiting Mam tonight

In the meantime, I am checking train times and fares in case it would be easier/cheaper for me to go up that way - I am planning going up on Saturday, unless anything changes in the meantime

Steve you cheeky moo. You know I'll nick'em from you anyway.

I hope he isn't diagnosed as one but if he is you may wish to read Worried Jim's thread. He was diagnosed and is a dietary and pills controlled diabetic whereas i am insulin dependent. Care in the UK is pretty good and a diabetes team will sort him out in no time. The symptoms can be confused with many other illnesses so i wouldn't worry too much ok.

I am reading Pms for a few mins. Lots!!!

Hope the further blood tests go well for your OH boult and they find out what the problem is soon - that's the worst part isn't it? While they do test after test to find out the problem?

Trust you Steve to be after the biscuits !!!!! ;)

Many thanks for the prayers Kit - I would go up sooner if my sister thought it necessary - and I will if things get worse - but at the moment, Saturday should be OK. I'll get shopping in for Mr 3Dogs on Friday and pay a couple of bills, so everything is sorted for him

    Hi Susan,
When your looking at train fares etc we have found it cheaper if you buy singles instead of returns.. Like for us to London £6 single each way.. rather than a return which costs £55 thats for 2 of us.. so take a look ok.. Hope this has helped.. other is to go by national express coach as they are doing some realy good deals across the country for £1
