Cahoot & Santander - yes or no?

I have held a Cahoot current account for about 8 + years and until recently have been extremely happy with it: However firstly I am told that as I am a Cahoot account holder I can't apply to transfer to Santander and get the £100 bonus so I then enquire in a Santander branch office if I am eligible to open a 3.25% savings bonus account. The lady looks on her system & tells me that I only have a very small eisa account ( at a guess it's an old A&L ISA) and says that as I am not on her system Cahoot customers are not part of Santander??? After the recent problems with their internet banking I intend moving to 1st Direct anyway but would like to know why Cahoot is/isn't part of San... depending on who you speak to:mad:

It is Santander when it suits them and it's not Santander when it doesn't suit them.
They don't want to give you the better rate or switching bonus because they've already got your money - I imagine they view it as a waste of £100.0 -
Of course Cahoot is part of Santander. They even advertise this on the front page of their website.
They might not have transferred Cahoot accounts onto the Santander computer system yet though.
I couldn't say whether transferring from Cahoot to Santander qualifies you for the £100 bonus or not. It depends how strictly they interpret the rules.0 -
Cahoot customers are not eligible for the £100 switcher.0

The systems were completely separate as they operated as completely different entities and I know that Santander couldn't access any information on Cahoot customers/accounts. Unfortunately I believe Santander started the migration process with Cahoot a couple of weeks ago which caused a number of problems (there are various posts on the forums). I initially planned to keep my Cahoot account as a back up (I switched my banking to First Direct earlier in the year after having numerous problems with accounts with both Santander and Cahoot), but after the chaos a couple of weeks ago with their migration/systems update, I changed my mind and have been trying for a week to get Cahoot to close my current account but for some reason, they won't close it!0 -
Because Santander are idiots. Link to earlier rant (if you are wondering if this is balanced check my sig and this is the 2nd link I've posted - yes I'm angry  )

I don't think you can switch:

search for Cahoot and you see

Cahoot advertises being part of the Santander Group ["World's Best Bank"]. Where are the Advertising Standards Authority when you need them?0
