30 pound goverment scheme

can anyone help? i saw martin lewis on "daybreak" amd i caught the tailend of a conversation about the goverment giving you 30 pounds a week to help towards your child education. appreciate any more information thanks.:A

  • I think this sounds like the EMA, £30 for over 16s still in full time non advanced education (ie still at school/local college studying for less than a degree).

    I agree, so I'm going to move this over to a more appropriate board! But please note that the £30 (maximum) goes to the child, who has to have their own bank account, and NOT to the parent.

    Children over 16 may be eligible for EMA. Education maintenace Allowance.
