Grand Opera House - seats in the Gods??

If you're going to sit in the Gods, try to book seats in Row B on the right hand side (as you face the stage). These are the higher numbers (19 - 25 are good). Doing this will give you some of the best seats in the gods. Best for the following reasons:
- There's a side door at this side of Row B so you avoid having to deal with the steps at the top door - good for kids and the vertiginous, alike.
- Row B is the second row in the gods - so quite far forward but the view isn't affected by the hand-rails (as it is in Row A)

I don't see why that would be the case. An art gallery is a different thing from a theatre gallery. No, I still reckon it's just the Arts Council/ GOH management trying to be trendy.0 -

The upper seats in Belfast GOH were oficially designated as the gallery until this year, at least as far as ticketing and promotion literature were concerned.0

One other thing that is worth considering - you'll find there are plenty of kids up in the gallery/gods (whatever!) - so if they get a bit fidgety no-one minds (I've two so I've been there......). Whereas if you go for top price seats you can sometimes find yourself getting glared at by someone who's never done battle with a six-year-old.........
I'd go for the cheap ones, have an absolute ball, use the extra cash to treat the family in some other way; perhaps have something to eat and make a real 'night' of it. Hope you really enjoy it - we've been going to the panto every year on New Year's Eve since my son was two - now he's nineteen and asked me the other day to make sure we've got the tickets sorted.......0
