Is it really free though?
We need wills writing, but the suggested donation mentioned on the site of £75 each actually equates to the same price we have been quoted under normal circumstances (and is out of our reach). Knowing the local participating solicitors are also the most expensive in the area for wills, not sure how they'd look upon anyone giving less.

Just received an email from them letting me know the website is running again so no need to wait 5 days!

I ended up calling the number 0870 6060 239, where they confirmed they send you an information pack based on your post code in about 5 working days.
I called from work so it doesnt cost me anything, but I couldnt find an alternative on www.saynoto0870.com for the rest of ya'll I'm afraid.
The other option is to send the request to enquiries@willaid.org.uk for the packet to be sent. Just give your house number, post code and name. Specify you dont want to be added to mailing lists (theirs or charities, they did ask).0 -
The solicitor I've just phoned said that they may have to charge extra if the will is complex. I've only got a small house to pass on with no dependents so I stressed I only wanted a will where the money is going to charity. It's a great scheme for solicitors to hook clients for other services.0

I am being quoted £150 plus vat i.e.£176.25 for 2.0 -
I had a previous will drawn up under this scheme a few years ago. I am quite sure I was not charged VAT. In those days it was £40 and all the money goes to charity so it is in effect free.0

£146 inclusive was the best quote we got for a pair of mirror wills earlier this year - so two donations of £75 is no better financially.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

Martin's post says £110 for a pair so it would be saving a bit .0 -

I think a few of you are missing the point.
1) It is free, so there is no VAT (Even C & E can't charge against a charitable contribution)
2) Martin's £75/£110 is a "suggested" donation. You could donate a lower figure0 -
Yes Martin's suggested donation is that, but if you look at the site it seems to me that they are expecting £75 per will.0

No i'm not missing the point, I was posting to let earthmother know that it is not £75 each but £110 for two. I know there is no vat.0
