Hello everyone
I have just reinstalled windows xp, taking it back to the factory settings and so on. I have now tried to reinstall a logitech quick cam 8.4.8. which worked fine before. However it did not install properly and now I can neither uninstall it or make it work.
Has anyone got any ideas what I can do.
Thank you in anticipation.

You don't mention which model of camera you have - 8.4.8 is the software version. This is the page for software installation problems for a model which also uses 8.4.8, so it might be useful:

EDIT: Also, do you have DirectX 9 installed?Charlie0 -
a good way is to delete the "logitech specific" files in the registry and then try reinstalling it making sure this time to choose the recommended settings it chooses for you. this way you can be sure all the necessary files are installed.Certified Resident Wanty Stalker #001

It looks like installing ActiveX 9 did the trick, everything seemed to go smoothly from that point.
Many thanks for everyone's help.

I thought this problem had been ironed out but no. I took windows back to factory settings and then reinstalled everything, I think. However I was unable to reinstall the logitech camera, at least it reinstalled but was not useable. It also appears I have the same problem with my epsom printer and mt daughter's mobile phone.
Is there someting I am missing? It feels almost like there is no recongnition of the software. Needless to say I am getting severe earache can anyone put me out of my misery?
I am on XP and there are 2 users set up on the machine will this make any difference?
