Tax credit - Income based JSA

I am currently filling in the form for tax credits, and it's asking me to fill in what I earnt from Apr 2009 to Apr 10. For a significant period of this time I was on income based JSA. I don't think I've ever received contribution based JSA, however, this is the ONLY type of JSA the form is asking for.
Should I still enter my income based JSA amount?

No, you do not declare the income from IB-JSA as it is not classed as a taxable benefit.0

FWIW, I got a letter the other day saying I had earnt XXX.XX of taxable benefits from July 26th to September 12 (when I began work), and I believe I was also on income based JSA then too.

Is it a taxable benefit?
Income-based JSA is a taxable benefit. However, there are special rules that decide how much of the benefit is taxable. The amounts depend on whether you are claiming as a single person or as a couple. You must tell your tax office when you start getting income-based JSA.
Just to add to the confusion??
