A departure from the trend for futuristic games, Call of Juarez is set in the Wild West and is based on the classic movies of the genre.
You can choose whether to play as Billy, a young man on the run after an accusation of murder, or Reverend Ray, a vigilante who is trying to track Billy down.
As well as pistol duels and horseback chases, it is possible to use fire to distract opponents. Anything that can be set alight has a flammability rating that is affected by the weather and the ambient temperature. As well as creating an obstacle to enemies, smoke from the fire hampers their vision.
Computeractive has teamed up with the publisher of Call of Juarez to give away 20 copies of this game, each worth £35. One lucky reader will also win an Alienware Aurora m9700 so they can enjoy the game on the move.
The Aurora is no ordinary notebook, as it is capable of playing games. It has a powerful AMD Turion 64 Mobile ML40 processor with 1GB of memory and its game-playing credentials come from the Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics card. Most notebooks rely on built-in graphics that cannot cope with modern games.
The 17-inch widescreen monitor delivers excellent visuals in Windows and games, and the wider screen also provides a better picture when watching films. Full surround sound completes the gaming experience.
The 80GB hard disk offers plenty of space for games or work and the dual-layer DVD writer can be used for backups or creative projects such as home movies. The Aurora can also connect to both wired and wireless networks.
You can also download a demo of Call of Juarez.
For a chance to win the notebook and a copy of the game, just answer the question to the right.
What is the name of the vigilante chasing Billy?
Answer: Reverend Ray
Good Luck
