Ryanair Free Flights

I recently attempted to get my two free flights that I was entitled too, after spending £3,000 pounds on my Ryanair credit card. After I gave the person my preferred flight dates. I was told that they would cost me £150. I informed the operator that the same flights booking on the Ryanair web site would only cost me £78. They informed me that this was due to me having to pay the taxes with my free flights. How can two free flights cost me £150 and be dearer than flights advertised on their web site. Has anyone else had any issues with Ryanair free flights.

You should have read the small print at the time - I think all free flights with airlines work like this.

I've never not been able to find a ticket on Ryan Air that was equal or more expensive to the taxes on the ticket, so you'd be better off booking via the Ryan Air website than using your free flight vouchers! (Unless you can find a destination with a high ticket price and low taxes).

Because they like Ryanair? They're my favourite airline by far, who else could I fly Bournemouth > Dublin > Barcelona > Marrakesh > Rome then Bratislava > Stockholm > London for £30 with?

This is standard practise, ALL airlines, including British Airways, do this. It's just more noticeable on Ryanair as they offer fares cheaper than the taxes cost alone.
