the receipient can be asked to pay balance and handling fee by royal mail- can work out quite expensive- why should people in debt pay postage for creditors. there may have been a problem with one or more creditors at one time doing this and cccs may have put it in after receiving complaints etc from recipients?

why has dla stopped? did dwp reassess? have you sought advice on grounds for appeal? did you appeal etc?
dla stopped because it was renewel time i am appealing but been told it will take 6 to 9 months i fully expect to get it back but in the meantime im shafted
  • As a solicitor myself I am sure that the phone call was not from a solicitor. Unsolicited phone calls to debtors is not how a solicitor would operate, we like everything in writing.

If they ring again ask for the name of the firm and the person speaking and ask them to confirm that they are a solicitor or from a firm of solicitors...and then check that with the Law Society's website.

I think it is an offence to pose as a solicitor.
