Sorry that you think I am angry...I'm not and have absolutely no reason to be - I don't know you but I do understand the stress you are under.
Ok, so your partners income is usually £1400 - that will be very tight with £600 going on rent but possibly achievable. I presume you've signed the lease for 1 year? Have you checked the benefits site yet? You might be pleasantly surprised.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)
really....it's not hard to understand :T0 -
OK I've gone through the benefits checker for you on the net income of £1,400 p/m and a gross income of £1,800 p/m and you should be entitled to about £107 p/m in Housing Benefit.:footie:

£300 per head for accomodation in the London area is very cheap. You can pay far more than this for a flat share. To move to a new place normally envolves agents fees, a deposit and at least a months rent in advance ie well over a thousand pounds. As th OP has no money they are in no position to move. I think people who have neber lived in London appreciate the nightmare accomodation situation.0

There will be a reason this little bedsit for £90p/w in Ilford isn't suitable.

Or for £111p/w this posh one even with bills included and a jacuzzi

OP:
Ordinarily people wouldn't advise you not to pay council tax or TV, but you are in a very difficult situation. By not paying this will give you money for food and essentials.
Then you can concentrate on applying for benefits as others have said and finding work.
Go over to the old style board, there are lots of suggestions for cheap meals. You cannot not eat.
How long will your OH be on reduced pay ... could he extend the time and therefore up his income?
It would be useful for you to find your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they may be able to help you fill out forms or know of places where you can get immediate help.
Are there agencies you can sign up with where you can do odd days work here and there?0 -
Right as you have health issues have you looked at disability living allowance .
I was asking about the rent as I lived in Carshalton , waddon and Leatherhead yes 6 years ago , but rent was around 595 for a 2 bed masonette. even the one up one down in waddon was only 500 .
You mention about electricity and rates etc , that it is split with the pharmacy. Please ensure that its a fair split or ask to be put on your own meter . Winter is coming up and a shop that is open 9-5 during winter months will use far more electricity than you will.
The council tax and bills etc, it is always better to admit you are struggling , its hard I know and so do most of the people on here , thats why we are here . contact the relevant company , as if they dont know they cant help . They like us are not mind readers. Finally please dont say there are no jobs out there to get . They're are you just haveto be bloody organised and sell yourself to high heaven.
If you cant be on your feet , an office job is fine. You dont need experiance to be an admin assistant in an office, if you have sone household admin ect budgets and supplies ( food) cvs and application forms can be tweeked to say the appropriate things.
Your job center will help with all that. The OS board on here is a good start as well . You will get meals in pennies etc. and being in London you should market shop etc. Have you got a freezer ??? if so batch cook .
Finally , you are here for help we are here to give it , however we will be blunt as nessesary. Its hard to face upto facts sometimes and takes a fresh pair of eyes to tell you .
We have all been there , still are there or are experts to get you out of there. So hang tight and get ready for a very bumpy ride . Its not going to be easy.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0 -
about health issues. i am not disabled, my knees just can't stand standing more than an hour or so, then they already hurt. been to the doctors too, they said nothing is wrong with me. so i just have to handle it somehow. about office assistant job. i do think i could handle the job, but i am not good with people. :S i have also been diagnosed with depression and that means i tend to cry occasionally, also having anger bursts... how could i work with people then?
that's why it is hard to find a job where i could manage and where i wouldn't get more stress. I just don't know what that job could be. i feel so desperate and don't know what to do. what makes things worse is that i don't eat everything and i'd rather starve than eat some things... and i haven't been able to solve that issue. so that makes our food budget bit worse. i am not making excuses, just telling everything as it is, hoping my honesty pays off. we will contact the council on monday, also will try to call people who deal with working tax credit (which would be really helpful). Also i should pay a visit to job center. But that has to wait til monday also.
Thank you to people who underestand.Everything will be better, you'll see:T:wave::hello:

Have you looked on spareroom.co.uk for a room where someone will accept couples. Not every place has polish guys smoking cannabis and rats running around. Nobody is trying to cause you anymore stress, we are just trying to state the facts which is not easy for you but once you realise that you can't afford to live where you are at the moment and do something to change this, things will get easier. We are here for support and I was in the same position as you are until I realised I couldn't afford to live as I was. I just wish somebody had pointed it out to me earlier.0

What about this job HR assistant. No need to speak to anyone. Just do the work fill out forms, send information off and that's about it. Send letters requesting references. Looks like a good job. No experience really needed.
