I have 3 3kw Dimplex automatic electric heaters in a flat and after 16 months they are all failing. The electrician says the problem is with the thermostat. The previous ones were going strong after 10 years.
Anyone know if this is a common fault? They are

Panel heaters are pants at the best of times, even makes like Dimplex fail all to regularly, a lot of the time a loose connection inside the heater will prematurely fail the heater due to the connection failing.
There was another similar problem mentioned on here the other day again a Dimplex. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
All 3 are defective, although they have a power supply light on, timers are off, working manually.
They heat up and go off after a time & will then come on after a time.
Seems odd that all 3 will have te same fault within a short space of time after a year.0 -

I'd contact Dimplex. Although they are out of warranty you still have rights, especially when all three have failed with the same fault.0 -
Can you adjust the thermostat when the heaters are on ? if so can you hear it clicking on and off ? if thats the case then the stat sounds as if its working ok, however inside the heater there is an overheat stat. If the heater gets too hot then this second safety stat kicks in.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
