If you wee money then a few k probably doesn't matter.

This is a site called money saving ...

Yeah, but if it is your forever home and you dont get it for the sake of a few thousand......
There comes a time when you just have to pay for what you want.
Or lose out, regret it and end up moving again to get something you could have had anyway
  • thanks, it's the first house we have offered on, and we are happy to take the risk of losing it, we think they are desperate and we are the only people not in a chain, so we think they will buckle first

Good on you. The last few posts are honest but the sentiment currently is around 10% off asking to get a sale for realistic sellers. I should know, I've nearly bought two houses in the last six months (don't ask :() and i'm about to make an offer on a third tommorrow & I've had at least 10k off each (around 160k asking). GL.
  • Thanks. who knows who is right?! A house may only be worth what some can pay or be willing to!!

Patience and a good deposit are your best weapons in this market of falling prices.

Why have a bigger mortgage just because you can.

Do you copy and paste your responses? They seem to have little variation.

Seems a little obsessed with getting that message across.

I made an offer in August. Was declined. I decided that it had been a fair offer after reviewing all the available information and refused to negotiate. Last week the EA phoned to say that the vendors were keen to sell and would maybe take my "cheeky offer".

Needless to say I had to knock a bit more off my revised offer given the fundamentals of the local market. His reply.... "They are not going to like that!"

My reply..... "I await your call in a couple of months my friend. Good luck!"

Not sure your strategy is very productive - you have chosen not to proceed with your offer that the buyers have accepted...??!

Had you bothered to read the post you will have noticed that the initial offer was made and refused in August. The EA phoned almost 5 weeks later to say that they would MAYBE be willing to accept my "cheeky offer" as they were "keen to sell".
Firstly, my offer was not cheeky it was just an offer. Secondly, they would "maybe" consider my offer. And thirdly nearly five weeks had passed- I had viewed more properties in the meantime.

Please read posts before commenting on them. Thanks
