Small Claims ? expenses

I'm hoping it doesn't come to going to the Small Claims Court re a problem we are having at the moment but if it should, would we be able to claim for expenses re travelling costs etc? It would be some distance from where we live, guess about 80 miles each way. Would just like to know. thanks for your help

  • Depends on the circumstances. If you are a claimant and suing a corporate defendant it should be in your local court.

Travelling expenses are down to the discretion of the District Judge.

When I sued a private defendant via SCC it was at her local court.
