fastest way to sell paper shares?

I've got 3 share certificates (for shares in 2 companies), and need to sell them quickly.
i've looked at the various online sevices but most require you to send the certificates in and for them to be registered in their nomniee account before you can do anything (5 working days for that it seems) and then payment takes a bit longer (another 3 working days apparently).
What's the quickest way of getting the share certificates turned into cash?
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
Your bank may offer an in-branch share dealing service.0 -

thanks for that.
the main banks i bank with either don't seem to offer it or simply offer an online or phone service. Even the phone one apparently take 10 working days from receipt of the certificate to payment.0 -
Halifax will sell your shares and request the certificate after I think0

yep - it looks like you're right - thanks: http://www.halifax.co.uk/sharedealing/services/selling_share_certificates.asp
although:
"In order to complete your sale, we will send you all the relevant paperwork which you must sign and return to us along with your share certificates. We can not send you any money from the sale until we receive these documents. This process can take up to 10 working days and can be delayed if we have not received all the required documentation. Once completed, a contract note will be sent out to confirm your sale."0 -
I haven't used them, but ShareDealActive were recommended to me as a quick/cheap way of dealing in paper certificates.0

If Equiniti are the Registrars, they have their own selling facility for certificated shares which might be a bit quicker by cutting out the middlemen brokers :- https://www.shareview.co.uk0

bs they arent going to literally give you money for nothing  But once you make the sale then you know cash is there and can use credit. Since shares can always half in value thats the vital part surely0

Now signed up for that (as one lot of shares use them). I'll need to wait on the activation code in the post though.
And as a result of that tip looked up the other one and computershare.com does a similar thing - so looking into that now.

I know, lol. Although the reason for speed isn't any concern about the share price per se but in order to get the cash to my account as soon as possible.
