Tax Credits

Hi, I'm currently unemployed (recently made redundant) and actively seeking work, claiming Income Support. I am a lone parent at present but I am in a relationship. My boyfriend has a little boy from a previous relationship and we were talking recently about moving in together and him gaining full custody of his little boy.
Would we be entitled to claim working tax credits as a couple even though I am out of work? My boyfriend earns about 15K a year. Also how would it work for our children, being from previous relationships?
Also, does anyone have any idea if we'd be entitled to anything else? Obviously my boyfriend couldn't afford to look after the 4 of us on such little wage and the local job scene is appauling at the moment.
Any information would be greatly received.

Hi, you will be treated as a family so they will base your income on the £15K so you will be entitled to WTC, CTC and CB. You may get help with your rent. You will no longer get IS.0 -
You need to give more details. You were made redundant recently, so although your bf earns £15k, any income you have earned, and may earn, in this year can impact on tax credits, including taxable benefits.
How much did each of you earn the previous year? The amount of child tax credits will depend on the amount of children on the claim and the amount of income used in the calculation.0
