Does anyone know how you go about complaining about Employment Support Allowance. This is generally in relation to the medical assessment and a member of the ATOS health team. Could you perhaps point me in the right direction of who i should write to. I think is there any point but if people dont complaint i guess the shoddy system will never change!
Thanks
Thanks

You can get a complaint form from ATOS, just ring them or write to them and they will send it to you.0 -

I appreciate your problem but like a great deal number of people, they think they have had a shoddy deal with the medical as well. I do, mine was a complete fiasco!
Unfortunately that is the way it is. You accept it or appeal against the decision.
Nothing will change, the decision has been made to use ATOS (who on the face of it are proving that the Government is correct in that a very large proportion of claimants are trying it on - otherwise more would pass).
Yes you can complain, but to be honest it is a complete waste of your time, energy and money.0 -
There's advice on complaints against ATOS on the MS site

I am a little confused as on another thread you asked for advice on claiming JSA because you are about to be laid off and on another on transferring a claim for JSA to another office?0

It may be that he is being 'laid off' from temporary seasonal work that he has been doing as part of his Permitted Work whilst claiming ESA.0 -

And all they are proving is what a waste or time it is having them, (atos) and they are costing the government more. Sack them all and listen to the specialists who as the name suggests specialists in the complaint the person has. My atos person had never heard of my condition what hope did i have of passing.
I appreciate what you are saying, but the system is what it is, and from what I see and hear nothing is going to change it. The results that ATOS are producing for the government are what they want to see. Whether it is right or wrong in whatever way, your energy is and will be wasted. You are not what the government wants to hear!
There are other ways - tighten up on the processes that the claimant goes through, if you can't beat them, join them, complain that they are picking and choosing which parts of the ESA regs they want to use, ignoring the requirements the DWP have to balance the decision making, re-wording documents that will help claimants understand exactly what is required of them to support their claim.
These two small elements will improve the chance of everyone in passing first time. But they don't want that do they??0
