My boyfriend is in the Navy and with car insurance for it to be valid you have to give the address at where the car for the most part is parked. Living on base increased his car insurance this year by £150, when he asked why they said due to terror and bomb threats and then proceeded to explain that if his car was bombed they wouldn't pay out anyway. So basically he's had to pay an extra £150 for bomb/terror threat cover that won't pay out anyway.

My boyfriends car insurance on a 2 litre car was about £500 cheaper at his base, than if he lived at his parents house, I just don't know where they get their facts from sometimes..

Move to another insurer - yet another company dreaming up ways of taking money for nothing.

Have a look around the net, there are specialist forces car insurers, but I find that elephent, admiral and the others in that group if you phone then up and say that its kept on a military base then its considerably cheaper, but you can only do this over the phone not on the internet.
