cheap laptop just for internet

Hi I know there are lots of thread about laptops, but the laptops are often sold/out of stock when I click on them.

Looking for a laptop for my other half. All he does is Ebay, few online auctions, basically loads of internet pages up at the same time. His existing Dell has been fab but is now painfully slow. Tried to use googlechrome to speed the browsing up but the internet but the internet auction he uses only works on explorer.

So basically need the best laptop for the money which is the best for internet use. What should I be looking for and can anyone recommend a nice cheap one for £400 ish thanks Karen

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
to be honest you would probably be better getting some more details about the laptop he is using as we might be able to help you/him get it back up and running a lot better than it is now without spending much/any money

make and model would be a good start
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

Here, this Samsung R519 will fly along for £300.

We can take a look at the Dell at the same time to bring it up to speed. The model number if you please. :)

And judging by the number of keyboard keys I've sold for them, they're not built that well.

He could keep his old Laptop, remove everything, including windows install Linux, run firefox and away he goes.

From what I can see, this laptop is better than the yesterday's MSI that went for the same price?

Although the MSI had bluetooth and a better graphics card this one has a better processor and by virtue of being a samsung I am guessing the build quality is better....

Any thoughts on this Donnie or anyone else? :o Should I send the MSI back and get this one??

Painfully slow laptops can always be cured, by reinstalling windows, or stripping out startup or software that is causing slowness, or upgrading ram. post a hijackthis log, and details of installed ram and commit charge from task manager performance, the fix is probably very straightforward.
