FairFx card activation problem

I received my FairFx card and tried to activate it yesterday evening.
What a palaver! Either their system has a glitch or I have made an error somewhere.
Re the 3-digit security code on the back of the card, when asked to type that into my telephone key pad I did so, but each time I did, the message came on again to type in my 3-digit security code. This happened 3 times. I gave up and tried again, this time, after entering the digits TWICE finally I got to the next step.
The instruction was to enter my 8-digit birth date numbers (day/month/year). Despite doing this another 3 or 4 times, it kept coming back with the message that they did not recognise that format. I listened very carefully and wrote my birthday on a piece of paper in the 8-digit format so that I didn't get it wrong. But nope - still same message and after 3 or 4 goes it cuts you off.
I emailed the company last night but no reply yet. The telephone numbers they give are only for card top ups or lost cards. Also for emergencies.... I may end up phoning that number if I don't hear soon!
Has anyone else had the same experience or is it just me having a bad week (I've already had to cancel my airline tickets and re-book at an extra 800 quid because the names on the tickets were wrong!)

I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out - why aren't I rich?
Don't worry, I'm working on it!

No its not just you - I'm having the same problem. I called them and they were supposed to send out a PIN to me which I'm still waiting for - after two weeks. Time for another call I think!0 -
Keep us updated on this as I was going to get one at the end of the month to load for holiday but if there are issues, I will only have a short wile to sort them out before I leave the country. Cheers.0

Not longer after I posted, I received an email response from FairFx. They gave me a number to phone which is:
0207 778 9300
We went through a few security questions and then, after a ring back to me, they gave me a new pin number. I then have to go to an ATM machine later, use the pin number I was given on the phone and then select the option to change the pin number.
Fingers crossed I don't mess this up
But they were very helpful so GFA, it sounds like you've been forgotten about and I'd suggest you use that number I've given.
Good luck!I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out - why aren't I rich?

Thanks for that useful info - I will give them a call later and see what happens.0 -
We used FAIRFX cards when we went to USA earlier this year, we had no problems at all with the cards or with customer services when I spoke to them before and after my trip.
ONE IMPORTANT SUGGESTION:
I was told to take two FAIRFX cards abroad with me, which is very good advice, because if you lose one of them then the outstanding balance can be transferred onto your other card, if however you don't have another card then you are stumped as they can not get another card out to you.
We took two cards one in the wife's name and the other in my name, like I said - No Probs - Would Recommend !ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)

i had a very similar problem, it took me ages, the instructions on the line were actualy wrong. you have to put the # in after every step even though it doesn't say you should. you have to be quite snappy with it or it will continue to the next question and then tell you it failed.0 -
I've always activate my fairfx cards online... simple and free :-)

I use Email to contact FairFx. They respond in a very short time.
I think that 0207 number is quite pricey. As for the wait for a pin number. Seem to remember mine took about two weeks. Apart from that, impressed with the way it all works,0 -
The 0207 is a standard London number - normal geographic landline numbers apply.I use Email to contact FairFx. They respond in a very short time.
