Viewing houses without own on market?

Regardless of the implications of the phonecall, my stance would be to allow them to view but at a time convenient to you. I'd be willing to change my plans to acomodate a proceedable viewer but one who is not yet ready to buy would have to respect that I have a life as well. So I would ask if it can be rearranged for a time when you didn't have plans to take the kids out for the day. There is plenty of time between this weekend and their house being sold for them to view yours so they have no reason to insist on it being this weekend.
Add in the coincidence of the mysterious phone call and it would make me even less inclined to drop everything to fit them in.0 -
Why isnt the EA going to show them round? I am assuming you are paying quite a large some of money for them to work for you?I am a Mortgage Adviser

Depends on the contract with the EA, some we asked for a quote expected us to show viewers around, or they would chargeus about £35 for each viewing they did! In the end we had nearly 40 viewings as i remember, which would have been very costly had we gone with that particular EA!!0

I agree with this, take the kids out for the day, let the estate agents show the vendors around and leave plenty of old pics around showing happy families!
Edit, Sorry just read your reply!0 -

I phoned the EA and checked with them what info they give out. They said that they don't give out any info regarding the sellers circumstances and, after I told them about odd phonecall, assured me that they would be on the lookout for anyone sounding odd.
With regard to the viewer I told the EA that this sat wasn't convenient so it's been arranged for next Tuesday. After speaking to the EA I don't think this viewer has anything to do with the phonecall as the EA told me she sounded 'posh' and the woman that phoned had quite a strong local accent.
Think I will dig out the wedding photo though and put it back up on the wall just in case:D
Will delete my original post just in case ex has a nosey as I'm sure he knows I go on here.0
