Just wondered whether anybody else has dealt with this particular website.I paid £3.15 for a surname only search and nothing came up.I even put in my own surname and town but again no details.I then put in some of the most common surnames ie:Smith and Jones and used different towns for the address, again no hits at all. Therefore I assumed that the search engine was not working correctly ,so I emailed their customer complaints department (who endeavour to reply within 24 hours),I heard nothing back after 3 days so emailed again ,this is now some 12 days ago ,still nothing.
I know it's only £3.15 but if you times that by 1000 it soon amounts to a lot of money being scammed from us the public.
Basically ,avoid this site like the plague.

I hate to be pedantic :D but even if it worked your only searching the edited electoral roll which is sold to marketing companies. I seem to remember from the last figures the opt out rate is nearly 50% and rising every year.

Optimist is correct in not being optimistic :D of your chances of finding everybody on there.

I'm not on there as I don't want lots of junk mail.

It does sound faulty though as you would expect to find somebody.

I would have been wary instantly seeing as they spelt electoral with double l.

That's because the OP can't spell.

I do, I know I am on the edited list, because that is what I ask for.

Still, I will use the £3.95 for a sausage bap in the Dog and Duck. Cheers

First of all I may I just say I find anybody who criticises somebody else's spelling, must have a problem. We are not all fortunate enough to be able to spell every word correctly.
Secondly if you had cared to check this site it is spelt as I said with 2*l's at the end.Just to prove to you, we all know ,the correct spelling is( role.)

Thankyou for your comments, but my main reason for posting was to warn others that they will lose their hard earned money on this site and won't even get a reply to their emails.

Still I remain Optimistic:D that I may get a reply from them

Uhm roll is correct........i think they were referring to "electorall" as the word that should only have one l
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

I very rarely pull people up on spelling. As long as I can understand the gist of a post I'm happy. Your big mistake though was to misspell a web site address. So when I copied and pasted your attempt into my Search Engine, to better understand what you were on about, this is what I found:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=theukelectorallroll.co.uk&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=ivZ&channel=s&source=lnt&tbs=ctr:countryUK%7CcountryGB&cr=countryUK%7CcountryGB&sa=X&ei=RvWWTMyTF8fKjAesjdSbBQ&ved=0CAcQpwU

    Almost a Googlewhack.

If you didn't understand how this site works, you don't understand what you are agreeing to when you fill in your electoral roll form.It is worth informing yourself.
