How do you convince an ex things are over?

My relationship with Scottish Power ended just over a year ago.

We'd had a good innings, but things had become stale and I'd met EDF who I felt I was far more compatible with.

Since the break-up, Scottish Power has just refused to leave me alone. I get calls every month begging me to come back, and three times she's been round to the house.

I feel like I'm being stalked. How do I stop this harassment?

Seriously now, this is beyond a joke. I've told them many times to take me off their database. I'm also on all the telephone preference lists, so these are the only cold calls I get.

The house visits have been sinister too, as they got in by saying there's a problem with my supply or needed to check my meter.

Is there an ombudsman or something I can complain to? Can I take out a restraining order on them?

Write to them recorded delivery, stating you do not wish to be contacted by telephone for unsolicited marketing purposes.
    Head your correspondence, COMPLAINT

Failure to comply is a breach of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2004.

Refer her to item 7.5 & 7.83 of Energysure's code of practice for the face-to-face marketing of energy supply & then if necessary complain to them & her employer.

7.5 says "Sales agents will end the discussion and leave the premises immediately at the Consumers request. Sales agents will voluntarily cease contact with a consumer who clearly indicates that a contact is inconvenient, unwelcome or inappropriate"

7.83 says "sales agents must at all times avoid the use of high pressure tactics"

    Hi gaz77

These times can be very traumatic for both parties and I am sorry that we are not dealing with your loss very well. I do not want to prolong the pain any longer therefore I can arrange to cut all ties for you.

Seriously - I can remove your telephone number from our marketing list and make sure that these calls will stop. Send me your details and I'll sort this for you.

    Kind Regards

    Colin @ ScottishPower
