UPDATED - Our Bankruptcy diary, its nearly over !

Good Morning all... Trust we are all well and happy  that the weekend is here.

I know Im happy, The big B day is fast fast approaching, I know I havent updated you all for a while, Not that much has been going on really. We are simply trying to save as much hard cash to help us to pay fir the B day and the after effects !

We found out when we was completing the forms online that we can not petition separatley, because we had a pub togather, then we are classed as a business partnership, so it means a different set of forms that I got fro the court, and bvest of all one fee !

I compiled a spreadsheet the other day of all our lenders, business, joint and personal... It took over a day to get all the info they need.. Boy was it nasty reading... the totals are :
Me : £64,283
OH : £20,248
Joint : £21,824
Business : £11,033
TOTAL : £117,390

makes nasty reading doesnt it !.. Although it seems we have a lot of separate debt, again a lot of that was pumped into the business. Dont get me wrong, we have a nice house, we have been on holidays etc etc... But Im sure if we didnt go to that pub then we wouldnt have a quarter of that amount above !

Did I tell you by the way, the brewery that we had the pub with, they went bust the other week... Bitter sweet isnt it !

Other good news (Its more like my personal diary this isnt it ! Hope you dont mind) The insurance have agreed to pay out for my water damaged kitchen, thats a £3k bill that I dont have to worry about, just the living in a bulding site for 2 months really.. Start new job on Monday, and our mini holiday in 2 weeks.

See you all later !

Mike x

  • I'll be happier at 4:30 when I finish my training course!! Best of luck with the bankruptcy, sounds as though you are both getting things sorted. There's some sort of poetic justice in the brewery going bust isn't there!!
Glad the insurance co have paid out for the kitchen. Have a great weekend!
