I'm so impatient

Ok so there is no real point in this thread other than me needing to rant, sorry peeps!!
I am at that point again when I am just so frustrated at how slow this debt payment is going! I am such an impatient person and though we are getting there, it just makes me wonder sometimes if there isn't something more I can do?!
We have done the whole shopping cut down thing and most stuff we buy if the cheapest range the store do. I try to overpay on any debts - even if it is just £5 a month or something. We don't eat out or get takeways (except for our birthdays), we haven't had a holiday in 3 years, though did book a long weekend away in Scotland as we just felt we needed a break - but at £115 + food didn't think it was too bad. We don't buy clothes for ourselves unless it's necessary. There are no luxuries in our food shop.
I tried to get a 0% credit card so I could transfer a balance, but we have both been rejected and both our cards (Halifax) have just had % increases which worries me a bit.
I've started a self employed job making wedding stationery, but it's early days yet and although I have 2 promised orders the money hasn't actually been paid yet.
God sorry for the ramble - just wish there was a quick solution! Don't worry I know there's not and I know it took us time to get in this mess and it will take time to get out - just needed to get it off my chest!

I know the feeling. I have just been chip chipping away for ages. Not spent on cc for a while but debt does not feel like its turned a corner. Got rejected by last cc company when I wanted a 0% so will need to get hold of my credit report. But..now I have started a spending diary at least I dont feel so guilty whenever I spend anything which I was before.
Just keep at it. It will all be worth it down the line.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. I know it is going down and I've got a good forecast for the next year set up so I can see where the bills are heading, but it's still so upsetting that we let ourselves get into this situation!0

I know how you feel it is a long hard slog. But with mine I know I'll get there. I had a set back last year being made redundant, I got a job but it was almost half the pay so I ended up with a second job (self employed) and doing various surveys etc to make up the money. Its not easy but I'm sure there's more than just me that know where you are coming from with this. Have you tried the surveys and quidco? Its not a lot but every little extra helps.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. yes you can feel angry at yourself and ashamed but there is no shame in working to get yourself out of debt. That is something to be proud off.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Completely agree with you, I was always wishing for payday so that I could mark another payment off my schedule. I am always wishing my life away for some reason or another.
You should all be proud of your achievements, unfortunately I can't make any suggestions about being patient as I am completely the same xx0 -
Yeah I am the same too, I hate waiting and I look at my spreadsheet every day to work out what I can do, how I can get a bit extra, how long it will take me, etc, etc...
Slowly but surely as they say :-(0 -
Thats me. Keep checking my bloomin spreadsheet. Think Im expecting it to look different every day!Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Agree with all the comments.... you should however, definitely look back and see how well you have done already...
Im sure I remember reading on someones thread that they colour in a square for every £50 paid off and I thought that was a nice touch.
For me its a great big smiley face beside the header page in my 'debt' folder that thats another one paid/dealt with

Now 2 left to get smiley faces... Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
Ah, I'm home! BIG HUGS to everyone, I feel exactly the same. Although being in debt is horrible, it's encouraging to know we're all in the same boat! I'm also impatient, OCD in my spreadsheet checking, been rejected for a 0% CC (despite having a good credit score - they feel I already have 'too many financial commitments and responsibilities' - at least they gave me a reason!)
Feels like I've put my whole life on hold while pulling out of this debt, so trying really hard at present to appreciate how good life is and the things that are free, and still have a life, while not impacting the debt repayment. Hardest is living in an awful little rented flat, have to try not to think about the leaks and damp otherwise I'll just cry! Just have to concentrate on this time next year and the fact that we'll be able to afford to live somewhere just a bit nicer at last!
Keep going y'all, we can do it!0
