Hi there,
Could you please share your negotiation experiences? Asking price - Negotiated price and area please..
I am looking at renting a property in E14 area. How much can I get a 300pw property for? Its been vacant for over 3 months..
Many Thanks,
Tulipz

How long is a piece of string. If it is £300pw and hasn't shifted for 3 months, it probably isn't worth £300pw, but it may be the case that the landlord is stubborn and won't let for less than £300pw.
Look at similar properties in the same area that let quickly, that will be a rough guide to what the approximate market price might be.0 -

I can only know the 'asking price' of similar properties..isnt it?
I am more interested in knowing the actual price the tenant is paying...the agreed price...
Is there anyway I can know that? I thought people on the forum will post their experiences0 -
I live pretty near you, but I doubt my experience would help you much.
What other LLs are prepared to accept for other properties is rather by the by - but as chewmylegoff says, if it's been empty for three months in our neck of the woods I guess there's either something wrong with it, or the LL has priced it wrongly and is refusing to be flexible.
It also depends how desperate you are to move, and how much you like that particular flat. If I was prepared to risk losing it, then if I thought it was reasonably fairly priced I'd go in at £270 or so and see what the LL said. If I thought it was overpriced, I'd offer whatever I thought it was worth, expect a rejection, and then look at other properties - if the LL came back with a new offer before I'd found something else, I'd consider it.
If you can't find anything else on the market that you like and is in your price range, bite his hand off at the £300.0 -
have you viewed it, are you sure it is still vacant? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
