Credit Searches - Can they be removed?

Hi Everyone,

I applied for credit over the telephone a few days ago with Tesco.

They made an error in the spelling of my name.....

This means they have done a search with the incorrect spelling and another with the correct spelling a day later.

Although the first spelling was incorrect it is still showing as a search on my credit file!! Can I ask them to remove this search as it was there error??

Also a few days later I applied for a new current accound and credit card, is the incorrect search likely to make them turn me down?

The two searched with Tesco are the only ones in the last few months.

Yes they can be removed if they were done in error...

Although it was a mis-spelling they did get though to the right account,i cant see why they would take a search off ,as like i say they still got through to the correct account.
