Tax credits and child maintenance

My partner and i have recently seperated, she has one child from previous relationship and one with myself, her first child has no catact with biological father for 8 years and knows me as dad. She gets CSA payments for 1st child and i would like to know if that csa payment will be affected if i claim the tax credits, as children living with me, and she doesn't. We only doing this as she works full time and i work part time, we have children 50/50. She also recieves child benefit......
