Help! DMP Payment taken out today!

I'm sure I've read something about this before, and often payments show as being taken out of your account the day before the dd date, however, you will probably find on Monday that it is all square and you didn't actually go overdrawn. If you have online banking, can you see the date next to the dd? It may be Monday's date rather than today's date. There was a post sometime ago and I think the title was something like "Barclays' customer's check your accounts now" because someone had this happen to them, but it was explained that this is normal. I think it was in Budgeting and Current Accounts but I don't have time to search now.0

I'm with Alliance and Leicester, with them you have until the end of the working day to get the account back in the black apparently. We'll see though, at least CCCS will pay the charges.0 -

Nope it's definitely todays date and the available balance is negative now and yesterday it was in the black. CCCS have admitted it's their error so it's not just a clerical error on the website of A&L. This has happened to me before at Christmas with the council tax, rather than lose 4 days interest on the money and take payment on the 28th the cheeky beggars took payment on the 23rd. In this instance the bank is powerless to refund as per the DD guarantee as they weren't open for 4 days after that, by then the payment was due anyway. My council did this and I know someone elses council did the same they must have weighed up the possible losses against the interest they would have made and thought it was worth it....or maybe I'm just cynical0 -
Update:
Had a lovely call from HSBC this morning-'you're overdrawn!'
DUH! I know, and it's NOT my fault! I have the money to put into the account but HOW can it be taken out before the DD is meant to be?
Anyhoo, I'll be getting the charges back from either CCCS or HSBC...
Frustrating

My money taken by Payplan is actually coming out later. Sounds like CCCS and Payplan are having similar payment system problems. ANything to do with the volume of custom they have nowadays......This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I agree Lenny,
And welcome back!
I've been into HSBC and they've refunded me the charges. A hassle but not NEARLY as bad as the stress of the debt without their help.

Oh dear
I'm so relieved we decided to pay ours by standing order.
It's hopefully just a glitch where someone pressed the button a day early. :rolleyes:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
