I find charity shops great. Have found loads of really good stuff for next to nothing. There are several furniture charity shops that have popped up in the last couple of years around here.0

Hi, have you got any further with this stag head?
I'm not sure what to prime with, I've never painted resin finish, but presumably others on here would recommend using ESP to provide a key, never used it myself.
I wanted to suggest that for the glitter finish, rather than using pva glue to stick glitter to, you can get glitter paint! My daughter has a set of paint bottles, think I got them from Hobbycraft at Christmas probably (there's red, green and silver glitter in the set) These are PVA based paints. Sounds like what you need.
I wouldn't bother finishing with varnish or whatever - its not likely to suffer much wear and tear if it's just an ornament
Sadly no further as yet with the stag, I have twin toddlers if that is a good enough excuse! They are starting nursery on 12th though so hopefully i shall have a bit of time to get on with (other than cleaning) while they are there.....but only time will tell, I shall probably just end up putting my feet up and possibly having a snooze! I think if I do get around to it, I shall stick with the pva and glitter antlers as I want a pretty thick covering and probably have everything I need here already so a lot cheaper too. My idea behind sealing was more to stop the shed of glitter on to the floor underneath so would like to do that but am still debating between the matt which I already have or buying a gloss vanish in case the matt dulls the sparkle. Fingers crossed I get something pretty done this year
Oh, while I am here does anyone know where I could post questions/find answers about building a pizza oven on my patio? I'm hopeless at finding my way around this place DOH!

I'd suggest the In My Home (includes DIY) section.
Good luck with the pizza oven!0 -

I've run out of primer/undercoat. I had the Wickes one which was ok, can anyone recommend which is best?
It must be water based. Two reasons, 1) I can't be bothered using spirits to clean brushes and 2) I have a septic tank so can't dispose of said spirits if I do use them!0 -
Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice on esp, which one do you all use? I have been using Owatrol which is great but I have only used on smaller items. I have some BIG area to cover now - I have a whole melamine wall in my bathroom and also want to do kitchen cabinets and my huge fridge freezer etc so was wondering if you knew of something better, possibly something I could paint on rather than wipe on with a cloth and wipe off again? Also while I'm here, on the bathroom wall I was thinking of painting a mural, so would like some stronger/darker/brighter colours than you generally find in emulsion, anything you can suggest? And do you think I should seal it afterwards with something? It is a wetroom without Windows so stays quite damp. All advice greatly appreciatedThe secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
