Hi All I am new to this thread. I have been inspired by watching various tv programs and articles regarding revamping furniture. I have taken the plunge and brought a small chest of drawers for the spare bedroom which has, been recently been decorated. I purchased the light oak chest from a second-hand shop. The top is marked cup stains. The drawers have some splash marks which I have been assured can be removed by using beeswax.

What beeswax should I buy? Also for the top apart from sanding down what else will I need to do? I am a novice and have never done anything like this before, therefore welcome your suggestions.

    Thank you

I think that Bri Wax is a popular choice. If you put wax into search this thread you should get loads of info.
Some people wax or varnish after sanding, some people prefer to stain the wood first. It depends what colour you'd like.
I'm not sure how you use wax to remove stains but I'm sure that someone more knowledgable will be along soon!

    Hi all!

It's occurred to me that I didn't share this 'deer head' with you when I made it...

I picked up the blank on a fb group cheaply so the whole thing was a bit of a bargain!

Full details on my blog :)

  • Hi everyone, sorry not been here for AGES!!!

Just wondered - we are moving house and theres 2 things I desperately want to do.

    1. Paint the kitchen cupboard doors. There's nothing wrong with them, other than they are from the year of Christ.... whats the best way to do this?

    2. Recover a leather sofa... I'm wanting to revamp my living room (Currently its red / black) but im wanting more nicer brighter shades but a black sofa wont go! any ideas? (Its a recliner, not sure if that matters?)

    Thanks!

Hi, here are some links that might help with products etc. I've not updated the kitchen posts in a while but I'm halfway through and need to write a tutorial too.

We are just about to start renovating a bedroom. When we bought the house this was left. It is a huge wardrobe (in fact there are 2) they other is just a double. It is of great quality, very big and I would like to bring it from the 1970's to current day. The trouble is, I am not sure where to start. It appears to be a vinyl wrap as opposed to painted teak.

    Any help would be appreciated:)
