  • i work for a chemical company

ill ask there (probs my boss lol) if there are any suggestions.

im racking my brains now as we speak but its dead! i think because you have stained the wood (the product has soaked into the wood) then you are kinda bug-gered.

orange glo products....ive been working on them and they are good but i dont think they will help in this instance as the wood has been stained.

will probs be monday evening if thats alright?

    Abs :)

Oh.... try hydrogen peroxide for your stain.....be careful its an oxidising product so wear gloves and dont keep near other chemicals like acid and bleaches etc.

  • Thanks everyone,

Have been visiting my parents for the weekend so only just checking the more recent replies.

No Tescos didn't get back to me which I think is a bit rubbish, even if they can't help they could have at least rung to say so.

Managed to get the Tea Stain out eventually - I took the tablecloth to my mum's who has some vanish stuff which worked a treat (and she ironed it for me - aren't mums great! :D )

As for the work surface, I'm going to take debt_free_chick's advice and sand it down and use Tung Oil which I'll try and find this week (unless abdulinyourface comes back with an alternative quick fix - think I have burnt the wood though so not holding my breath:( ).

I don't think I've ever had a kitchen with wooden surfaces like this before so I never realised what a nightmare they are! Oh well I've learnt my lesson now!!

Thanks again everyone :T , it's lovely to have an online support network when things like this happen!
