Chest of Drawers and chimney breast

I am looking for a chest of drawers to fit snuggly in beside a chimney breast in our bedroom. The problem is most chest of drawers come out quite a bit from the wall. Is there a website were you can search based on width, height and most importantly in this case, depth?

Many thanks,
C

    i dont think so. just try google with your dimensions.
    most chests of drawers are in the range 35-45cm depth.
    Get some gorm.

    Depending on your budget it may be worth considering getting one made. I've got a wardrobe and chest of drawers in pine made by a local company; they weren't much more expensive than shop-bought pine equivalents but fit the space precisely.

    using a normal retail chest:
    assuming the drawers do not reach the back of the chest, (like most of em), itll be easy enough to cut the back down, level with the drawers.
    Get some gorm.
  • Drawer runners decide the depth of a drawer pack and come in a variety sizes. See hafele dot com a leading furniture component supplier for details.

    For dressers 250mm then up in 50mm steps but any less than 400mm and you can't get anything in, they're typlically 450mm in kitchens for example.

    Making a set of drawers is easy with access to the right materials, fixings and machinery but truly that means it works out a little more expensive than the mass manufactured furniture you see on most high streets, but price is king for most people.
  • thanks for the advice. hopefully a furniture website will build that functionality soon. i'll keep looking and let you know.
